Two factors people should consider when buying pie warmers

Here are two factors people should consider when buying pie warmers.

The capacity and temperature range of the pie warmer

A person who's shopping for this appliance should consider both the capacity and temperature range they need it to have. For example, if they plan to use the pie warmer at big dinner parties or for catering gigs, they will probably need it to have a large capacity and multiple shelves. If a person in this situation were to opt for a more compact pie warmer just because it was on sale or was cheaper than its larger counterpart, they might end up having to squeeze their pies onto the appliance's limited shelf space. This could result in the pies' crusts flaking off and the pies themselves not warming up evenly.

Pie warmers can also vary in terms of their temperature range, and this is something a person must consider when shopping for this appliance. For example, if they'll need to warm many different types of pies in this appliance, including pies with very delicate crusts made of filo or puff pastry dough and those with more robust shortcrust pastry dough, then they might need a pie warmer with a wider than average temperature range. The reason for this is that their pies with more fragile crusts might get overcooked and too crispy if the temperature range doesn't include a very low-temperature setting. Likewise, if the temperature range doesn't include a high enough setting, a person's more robust deep-filled pies with tougher, thicker crusts might not get warmed thoroughly enough.

Whether they need removable or adjustable racks

A person who needs a pie warmer must also think about the type of racks the one they're interested in has. For example, if a person plans to use their pie warmer a lot, they'll need to clean it very regularly. In this situation, they might need the appliance's racks to be removable, as this will make the frequent cleaning of them a lot easier. They won't need to stretch their arms into the back of the appliance to access and scrub each rack's many individual wires. Instead, they can soak each rack in soapy hot water, rinse it off and put it back.

Similarly, if a person plans to warm many types of pies in this appliance, including deep-filled ones, lightly-filled ones and ones with large and small circumferences, they might find it helpful to get a pie warmer with adjustable racks, so they can easily fit pies of varying sizes onto them. If, however, a person only makes and needs to warm up one type of pie that is always the same size, they might not need to factor this into their purchase.
